Chairman Er. Bijay Rajbhandary visited Doha, Qatar from 29 May to 3 June 2010. The visit primarily concentrated on CE and its associate venture commencing the construction and real estate activities from November 2010.

The annual day program updated on CE's performance, effort and achievements leading to present scenario and defining its future course of action. The Managing Director Er. Bijay Rajbhandary profoundly addressed all 183 staff with eternal employment service. The Director also made an announcement on CE- Qatar Trading and Contracting Company which has been established as an expansion beyond boundaries.

Grande International Hospital Construction in Action

The foundation laying ceremony for Grande International Hospital at Dhapasi was held on April 8 2010. The Hospital caters for 150 bed capacity with comprehensive general medical service. The full fledge service is scheduled to commence from February 2011. The Project is initiated in joint effort by the Chairman of CE Group Er. Bijay Rajbhandary, Dr. CR Pandey and Er. Deepak Kuwar Director of CD Developers. CE Services Pvt. Ltd. and CE Construction Pvt. Ltd. will manage the entire design, construction and overall management part of the project to reality.

Investment opportunities with CE

Chairman/ Managing Director Er. Bijay Rajbhandary, Human Resource Department Chief Mr. Raju Suwal and Director of CD Developers Mr. Deepak Kuwar visited UK and Qatar to make presentation on investment opportunities with CE Group of Companies in Nepal from 5-14 March 2010 in six different cities. The response from NRN as well as foreigners is overwhelming and CE is in the process to realizing it.

A talk program with Ar. Kishor Thapa

Ar. VSBK-CESEF Mid-Term Review Workshop

Veena's Residency Sale

First lot sale plan for Veena's Residency, Tokha has been completed. Altogether 10 plots were on sale, which has cent percent sold status and is under the contract process. Second lot sale is also on for 10 plots.

Harmony Housing Sale

Harmony Housing at Tokha opens its first lot sale program in the market. It avails a total of 25 % of its unit to the public. The project has 60 % of the units allotted to the company staff and rest 15 % to their relatives. There are altogether four types of houses ranging from 2 Anna plus to 4 Anna plus plot area. House offered are simple, yet decorative with a touch of minimal expression incorporated with all the modern amenities. The site is located in an elevated land with a peaceful environment and a 360 degree unobstructed view, offering a perfect ambience to dwell.

Interaction program for Non Resident Nepalese

On 16th October 2009, Mr. Bijay Rajbhandary, the Chairman/ Managing Director of CE invited participants of fourth global conference of NRNs at CE Corporate Office and made a presentation on activities of CE group of companies. Mr. Rajbhandary also highlighted on possible investment participation in Nepal for the NRNs. He also briefed about the long term project- Ring Road-Tokha Corridor Development to be enacted on component basis with strategic partners and focused on the Grande Towers a high rise, high end condominiums. He also highlighted investment in real estate from risk and return aspect in today’s context.

Director's Bangkok Visit

To realize the vision on comprehensive building material delivery in construction projects, Mr. Rajbhandary, the Chairman/ Managing director of CE Group and Mr. Pradish Shrestha, Director of CP Interiors visited Bangkok from 23rd to 28th October 2009. The main objective being the exploration on flooring, furnishing and facilities, interior decoration items and seeking different venture partners for CE's future business enterprise.

CE's Season Celebrations

On 24th September 2009, CE family had a celebration for seasonal greetings for Dashain with small refreshments in a jovial environment. Similarly, on 16th October 2009, in the occasion of Tihar, CE organized another entertainment program for lottery, where thirty nine staffs were announced lucky winners for different attractive gifts.

Harmony Housing Plot Selection Program:

August 5th 2009 was marked as a historical event for CE Group. Interested life time involvement committed employees of the company participated in the plot selection program for the first phase of the Harmony Housing Project located at Dhapasi. Each individual were given priority as per the seniority and involvement duration in the company. Altogether 30 employees bought the plots and company will avail special financial scheme to them. Moreover, not limiting the access of booking to only its staff, the project offers 15% to the relatives and 25 % of units to the public as well. This is an ERP (Employer, Relative, and Public) Model, and this model proven successful, CE intends to extend to government, semi-government, corporate houses etc in the time to come.

Directors of CE Group Visit to China and Bangkok

With an objective to explore on new varieties of products in the construction sector, Er. Shyam Milan Shrestha, Mr. Pradish Shrestha, and Mr. Prashant Agrawal are on a fortnight visit to China and Bangkok.

Chairman Visits Delhi

Mr. Bijay Rajbhandary, the Chairman/ Managing Director of CE Visited Delhi in mid May 2009. He had visited several hospitals to have an exposure for the imminent project, the Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi. He was also able to finalize dealerships contract of several international brands.

Visit of AIT Student

Mr. Raj Kumar Lakhe, the project manager of CE, pursuing Masters in Construction Management in AIT, made a presentation on the project management skill gained from the course.

Construction of Premier Elementary School Building Begins

April 2009 also marked the commencement of the construction work of Premier Elementary School building in Khumaltar. Designed by CE Services (CE’s associate venture), it is the first turnkey (design/construction/construction management) project of CE other than its own property development projects.

The design of the school building reflects the importance of user friendly environment for better teaching and learning process. The entire planning focuses on better traffic control, sound and safe setting and amicable ambience, the design looks forward to uninterrupted and spacious classrooms.

Real Estate Expo 2009 – A Success

CE Construction Pvt. Ltd. and its group of associate ventures participated in the first Real Estate Expo held in Bhrikuti Mandap from 2nd through 5th April, 2009.

The expo was an excellent platform for CE to reach out to maximum number of people to create awareness of real estate as a single solution to land acquisition, design, procurement, financing, construction and project management that makes products cost effective and ensures on-time delivery of quality products. It was also an opportunity to introduce to the general mass, CE’s group of companies, its services and products.

The response from the general public with regards to the company’s construction projects was overwhelming. The major highlights of the CE’s stall happened to be the models of Grande Towers and Rio Apartments, and the two-bedroom apartment mock-up of Grande Towers.

Chairman visits AIT, Bangkok

Bijay Rajbhandary, the Chairman / Managing Director of CE visited Bangkok in the first week of February to explore the possibility of technology transfer in habitat. The meeting with AIT officials on this regard was positive.

He has received an invitation to deliver a talk in Project Management in local context at the AIT campus. Mr. Rajbhandary holds extensive experience of Project Management having worked as a Project Manager in a number of construction projects in Nepal as well as abroad. He also teaches the course at AIM, Kathmandu.

CE Supports Higher Education Of Its Staff

Project Manager, Raj Kumar Lakhe obtained scholarship for MS Construction at AIT, Bangkok. He has been granted study leave by CE.

Mobile Project Manager, Dharma Ratna Maharjan, is enrolled in the 2 years long MSc Degree (Structural Engineering) at IOE, Pulchowk. His education is funded by CE.

Project Manager, Bhuwan Shakya is enrolled in the BE degree at Nepal Engineering College. The duration of his course is 4.5 years. His education is self financed.

Receptionist, Kesari Maharjan is in her last year of the +2 program at Capitol Hill College. Her education is funded by CE.

Chief Construction Manager, Shiva Hari Shrestha is enrolled in the 18 months long EMBA program at Ace Institute of Management, Kathmandu. His education is funded by CE

Project Manager, Binay Raj Sharma is enrolled in the 18 months long EMBA program at Ace Institute of Management, Kathmandu. His education is self financed.

Two Visually Impaired Children Receive Education Funding

CE also sponsored two visually impaired children of the Blind Association for their studies this year.

Chairman Visits Construction Material Expo In China

With the objective to study the Chinese construction material market, the Chairman and the team visited the Construction Material Expo held in Guangxhao, China, from 14th through 20th of April, 2009.

The expo presented an excellent opportunity to be updated on latest building materials and construction technologies. As an outcome of the visit, CE has been able to develop business networks in the area and is currently in the process of obtaining dealership for aluminium and pex pipes from established Chinese manufacturers.

Harmony Housing

Harmony Housing is an opportunity for CE’s employees to gain financially from the firm’s core business in property development. Still in its design phase, the project is expected to take off towards the mid of this year. The houses will be available to employees of CE and its associate ventures, their relatives and the general public in large.

Conceived with the objective of making available, affordable housing units to its employees, it is CE’s way of expressing its gratitude for their dedication, hard work and loyalty. Harmony Housing represents the exercise of CE’s philosophies regarding “Sense of Belonging” and “Quality of Life”.

CE has designed special financial package for funds and has made arrangements with vendors regarding material price discount and profit free construction. The design team too, exhibiting great sense of ownership has provided numerous creative ideas to enable construction in the lowest possible cost while taking care to leave the aesthetics and the ambience uncompromised.

Dhapasi Corridor Development

Always at the forefront of innovation, and building its competence as it undertook initiatives ranging from electricals, to roads, to houses, and to colonies, the vision of CE has taken a new turn with its commitment to building an entire city – a cityscape.

Observing the need for a well planned city, CE has undertaken the Dhapasi Corridor Development initiative. The location in Dhapasi offers itself perfectly to being developed into a planned cityscape owing to the abundance of available space for future undertakings. Refreshingly distanced from the everyday clamor of the city, and yet conveniently close to Kathmandu, the area is an accessible haven in itself; upon development the area will be linked with the inner ring road and the outer ring road (soon to be developed by the government) and as such will offer easy access to both the current inner city and the outside valley.

CE’s initiative in Dhapasi has been highly supported by its associate companies. With the completion of Dhapasi Cluster Housing first phase this year, the corridor development initiative is already a project down. Work on Grande Towers, the second of Dhapasi Corridor Development is in full swing. Grande Towers is the biggest housing project registered in Nepal which is expected to complete by 2013. Similarly, groundwork on other projects leading to this giant initiative is already on its way including the initiatives in infrastructure and the Harmony Housing project. Also coming up under CE’s initiative is a hospital which is expected to be up and running by 2012.

Dhapasi Corridor Development will undoubtedly be CE’s focus for recent years to come. The aim is to modify and change the entire outlook of the location; to develop a new city and establish this location as a prime residential area.

Rio Apartment

Construction is ongoing at Rio Apartment which is located at a prime location in Kupondole, Lalitpur. Designed by CE Services for CM Developers, it is built in about 2.5 ropanis, and comprises of 2 and 3 bedroom apartment units. A total of 28 apartment units are housed in its 8 floors.

Complete with amenities for comfortable living, the façade of the apartment is artistically designed to generate the interplay of extrusion and surface.

Dhapasi Cluster II

Construction is ongoing at Dhapasi Cluster II after the success of Dhapasi Cluster I. Located at a prime location offering panoramic view and peaceful ambience, the cluster has six contemporary residential buildings. Having worked out extensively on an undulating land, all the spaces have been meticulously planned along four split leveled spots. The project is focused on spacious interiors and simple exterior façade which is both elegant and stylish.

Artex Pvt. Ltd.

Artex Pvt. Ltd, established in March 2009, is an associate venture of CE that manufacturers flooring tiles and decorative items in Nepal. It produces high quality flooring tiles, paves and decorative items using imported ingredients and modern technology. The products comply with international standards and offer a wide choice in flooring to Architects, Interior Designers, Landscapers, Builders and end users. Artex products range from sidewalk pattern pavers, ornamental decorations, architectural elements, pavers, tiles and exterior design elements.

CE Construction Pvt. Ltd Into Its 18th Year

April 23 marked the 18th birthday of CE Construction Pvt. Ltd. The occasion was celebrated in Club Himalaya at Nagarkot where aside from the celebrations, CE staff and management were updated on CE’s progress and its future course of action. Another reason why the day was important was because it was the first alcohol-free CE Day in the history of the company.

The 18th CE Day marked the following achievements: the number of individuals in the Life Time Involvement program totaled 174; those who had completed ten years of service with CE reached 43; and those who had completed fifteen years of service with the organization reached 15.

CE Staff In Vipassana Meditation

Two architects from CE Services – Shakila Shrestha and Kavita Shrestha successfully completed the ten days long Vipassana Meditation course at Vipassana Meditation Centre in Muhan Pokhari in the month of April. Likewise, another architect from CE Services, Susan Sthapit is currently serving as a volunteer in the centre.

Residential Building Turnkey Project

The second turnkey project by CE will be the residential building of Rajesh Shrestha. The project is scheduled to commence soon.

Nepal Red Cross Society Held Blood Donation Program at Grande Towers

On Baisakh 13, Nepal Red Cross Society held a blood donation program at Grande Towers in Dhapasi. A total of 40 individuals from CE participated in the program and a total of 40 pint of blood was collected.

Participation In The First Aid Training in Tokha

Two CE staff, Bishal Koirala, Assistant Project Manager and Bijendra Shrestha, Overseer from the Grande Towers project in Dhapasi participated in the three day long First Aid Training Program held by Nepal Red Cross Society at Tokha in April 2009.
